What is E-Nivaran?

E-Nivaran is a digital platform developed by the Income Tax Department. It is a unified Grievance Management System which helps in tracking the complaints registered by the taxpayers and ensures their early resolution.

By using this platform, the taxpayers can register complaints regarding the AO, NSDL, UTISL, CPC-ITR, CPC-TDS, E-filing website team, etc. There are many benefits of using E-nivaran because it helps in getting the solution as soon as possible.

There are many features of e-nivaran, such as:

  • It provides a solution for all the complaints of taxpayers in a very systematic and simplified manner.
  • All the complaints registered, whether online or offline, are collected in a central system to prevent duplication.
  • It has a process already set up in the system, which automatically sends the problems to the designated departments.
  • The taxpayers can track their complaints and also get updates on them by using the e-Nivaran portal.
  • An assessment officer examines all the complaints on the portal for the timely solution of the problems.

Process to register the online complaint

Here are the steps to register an online complaint by using the website of e-Nivaran:

Step 1: Open the e-filing website of the Income Tax Department.
Step 2: Click on the tab of e-Nivaran on the portal.
Step 3: Select the button that says 'Submit Grievance'.
Step 4: Now, click on the ' PAN or TAN holder' and then submit the PAN or TAN number.
Step 5: If your PAN is not registered, select 'register with e-filing and continue' to go to the registration page.
Step 6: Select the option 'No thanks and continue without registering', then you will be redirected to the e-nivaran form to raise your complaint.
Step 7: Before submitting your complaint, you should preview and edit it carefully.
Step 8: Click on the submit button, then OTP will be sent to your mobile number and e-mail ID.
Step 9: Click on the message saying validate success shown on the screen and also on the option to download the PDF.
Step 10: After this process, an acknowledgement number will be generated on the website. You can use this number to track the status of your grievance.
