Here are the steps to reset your password using the OTP on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number:

  • Choose 'Using OTP on Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
  • On the next screen, select 'Generate OTP' and click on the 'Continue' button.
    • In case you already have an OTP, choose 'I already have an OTP on the mobile number registered with Aadhaar and enter the 'OTP'.
  • In the 'Verify your identity step', tick the declaration checkbox and click on the 'Generate Aadhaar OTP'.
  • Next, you will recieve a 6-digit OTP on your registered mobile number; enter it and click on the 'Verify' button.

  • After that, enter your date of birth as per your PAN, then click the 'Continue' button.
  • Enter the OTPs recieved on your registered mobile number and email ID and click on the 'Verify' button.
  • Now, in the 'Set New Password' box, enter a new password and confirm by clicking on the Submit button.
  • Your password has been reset successfully.

Option 3: Reset Using the Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)

Follow the steps below to reset the password using a digital signature certificate:

  • Choose the 'Upload Digital Signature Certificate' option and click on the 'Continue' button.
  • Next, select the 'New DSC' or 'Registered DSC' option, whichever is relevant, and click on the 'Continue' button.
    • Select a registered DSC if you have a DSC registered on the e-filing portal. If not, select 'New DSC'.
  • Next, download the eSigner utility and complete the installation. Select the appropriate DSC certificate and enter the DSC PIN/passwordf. Click on the 'Sign' button.
  • After that, in the 'Set New Password' box, enter a new password and confirm it by clicking on the 'Submit' button.
  • Your password has been successfully reset.
